Plot outline:
A baker and his wife dream for a child but suffer a curse running through their family laid by a witch who found the bakers father stealing magic beans from her mother’s garden. The witch’s mother punished her with a powerful ugliness spell that would be reversed if the bakers could retrieve a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn and a slipper as pure as gold for her that has not been touched by the witch before.
As they go into the woods to obtain these items, they meet Jack who’s selling his beloved cow in exchange for magic beans stolen from the witch by the baker’s father which grows into a giant beanstalk. They then come across Red Riding Hood who has a cape as red as blood. After saving Red Riding Hood and her grandmother from the Big Bad Wolf, She gives the baker the cape as red as blood that he needed. The baker’s wife then lays her eyes on Rapunzel whose hair is as yellow as corn. She cuts her hair off and runs off. At night as Cinderella runs away from his prince, she runs into the baker’s wife. The wife notices that she has a slipper as pure as gold, an item on the list but she was unable to obtain the item until the night before it was required.

The journey:
A physical journey is depicted in the text as they travel into the woods in search for certain items to obtain as their motive. Their motivation to obtain these items within the given time was to remove the witch's curse and have a child.

Obstacles / challenges:
As they enter the woods it was not as simple as they thought. When the baker found the girl with the red cape she refused to give him the cape. It wasn't until after he had saved her from the big bad wolf that she offered it to him as she knew he wanted it. When they found jack selling his cow as white as milk, they offered him magic beans for it which was not too hard but it ran away a few times and even died but was then revived by the witch. The hair as yellow as corn that was thought to have no problems didn't work because the witch had touched it before. And as for the slipper as pure as gold, the girl managed to run away every night until the last night they needed it by.

Rewards of the journey:
Although not everyone keeps their rewards, everyone gained something from going into the woods, after all the items were retrieved and the potion was made. The witch was cured of her ugliness, Cinderella and Rapunzel marry their princes, Jack is rich from stealing from giants, the bakers get their child that they've been so eager for, little red riding hood and her grandma are saved from the big bad wolf and her grandma makes a new cape for her out of the wolf skin. |

Shaping ideas of journey:
Ideas of journey were shaped through the use of lighting. Lighting was used in some scenes to show us how the journey was both dark and bright at times. Another technique used to convey meaning is camera angles. Camera angles shape ideas as they show is a certain view and perspective for a scene. The use of music and singing also adds meaning to the scenes as it helps express emotion and essence.
